# Bulk assign Shopware tags: for campaigns, product groups and rules
Tags are inconspicuous in Shopware but versatile: they group products for a campaign, drive dynamic product groups and serve as conditions in rules. In the PIM you assign and remove them for hundreds of products in one step, with filters, presets, CSV and snapshot.

- Assign and remove: add or remove tags in bulk editing for all selected products.
- Via CSV: the tags column, several tags separated by a vertical bar. The import creates missing tags.
- In the feed: tags as a column in the feed generator.
- Undo: a snapshot before every bulk edit.

## What tags are good for in Shopware
- Campaigns: a"Black Friday" tag groups all campaign products, regardless of category and manufacturer.
- Dynamic product groups: a product group by tag fills a category, a shopping experience or a cross-selling automatically.
- Rules: in the rule builder, tags control for example shipping methods or discounts for certain products.
- Feeds: with the tag as a column, a portal or marketing tool filters the matching products.

## Assign tags for a campaign
- Select products: by filter or preset, for example all products of one manufacturer with stock.
- Bulk editing,"Assignment" tab: add a tag, such as"Black Friday".
- Confirm. The dynamic product group with this tag shows the products right away.
- After the campaign: open the same selection and remove the tag again.
Via file it works with the tags column: Black Friday|New assigns two tags at once.

## Example: a seasonal collection with its own page
- Assign the tag: select all products of the collection and add the tag"Summer 2027".
- Create a dynamic product group containing all products with this tag.
- Use the product group: for a category or shopping experience of the collection, or as cross-selling.
- After the season remove the tag again in bulk editing. The page empties itself.

## Frequently asked questions

**Can I assign tags in Shopware for many products at once?**
Yes. Shopware has bulk edit in the product list for this. The PIM adds filters and presets for the selection, the CSV import that creates missing tags and a snapshot to undo.

**Are missing tags created during import?**
Yes. Tags that do not exist yet are created automatically by the CSV import.

**How do I separate several tags in the CSV?**
With a vertical bar, for example Black Friday|New.

**What can I use tags for?**

**Can I remove tags again?**
