# Customise the Shopware product form: fields, sections and required fields for products, variants and quickview
A fashion shop needs different fields than a spare parts dealer. Yet the Shopware product form shows everything Shopware knows, in a fixed order. In the PIM you set which fields appear, which are required and in which order the sections are shown, separately for products, variants and the quickview.
4 min read For Shopware 6.6 and 6.7
- Show and hide fields, separately for the product detail view and the variant view.
- Required fields of your own:"Required (manual)" in addition to the fields Shopware requires anyway.
- Order of sections such as master data, prices, media, SEO, properties and cross-selling via"Move up" and"Move down".
- Quickview: a field selection of its own for quick variant editing from the product list.

## Why it pays off
- Less distraction: whoever maintains only fashion does not need dimension and weight fields at the top of the form.
- Complete data: required fields such as EAN or manufacturer prevent products from being saved incomplete.
- Work faster: the sections your team uses most sit at the top.
- Consistent: the setting applies to all PIM users.

## How to set up the form

### Products
- Config matrix,"Products" tab: set per field whether it is visible in the detail view and whether it is required.
- Change the order of sections with"Move up" and"Move down".
- Show or hide tabs of the detail page."Master data" is always visible.
- Group custom fields by sets, so your own fields appear in order.

### Variants
In the"Variants" tab you set the same for the variant view: visible fields, required fields and the order of sections. A variant can then show only price, stock, EAN and images, for example, while everything else is inherited from the main product.

### Quickview
Clicking a variant in the product list opens the quickview with its master data, without the full detail view. Which fields appear there is set in the"Variants" tab under"Quickview fields (variant editing in the listing)". There is no separate"Quickview" tab.

## Good to know
- Empty sections disappear: if all fields of a section are hidden, it is not shown automatically.
- Prices gross and net: selling price, purchase price, list price and the lowest price of the last 30 days can each be shown or hidden gross and net, separately for main products and variants.
- Required fields when saving: if a required field is missing, a window lists all errors. A click jumps to the field and highlights it.
- Fields Shopware requires are marked"Required" and cannot be hidden.

## Frequently asked questions

**Does the setting also apply to variants?**
