# Translate Shopware properties: find missing options and fix them on the spot
Suddenly the English shop shows"Rot" instead of"Red" in the filter, or"Größe" instead of"Size" in the variant selection. The reason is missing translations of property options. The PIM shows them where you assign properties, and you translate them on the spot.
3 min read For Shopware 6.6 and 6.7
- Missing translations visible: options without a translation are highlighted, the count is shown at the top.
- Translate right away: via the pencil icon on the option you maintain the name in several languages at once.
- Checks what matters: the languages of the sales channels in which the affected products are actually sold.
- No detour: you do not have to leave for Shopware's property catalogue.
- Select the products of a channel
- The Assignment tab shows options without a translation
- Pencil icon, enter the name per language

## Why mixed languages appear in the shop
Shopware stores the name of each property option per language. If a translation is missing, Shopware shows the name from another language through the fallback chain. In the shop this only becomes visible when a customer sees German terms in the English filter. In the standard you can only check by opening every property in every language one by one.

## How to find and translate missing options
- Select products, for example all products of an English sales channel.
- Bulk editing,"Assignment" tab: among the properties, options without a translation are highlighted and labelled"no translation".
- Pencil icon on the option: enter the name per language. Each language lists the related sales channels for orientation.
- Save: the translation applies right away to all products using this option.
Showing missing property translations can be switched on and off for bulk editing in the config matrix.

## And the product texts?
For product name, description and meta texts there are DeepL, AI and"Copy from default language", see Translate Shopware products. The"Missing texts per language" filter shows gaps per language.

## Example: a new English sales channel
- Filter the product list to the new channel and select all products.
- Bulk editing,"Assignment" tab: the top shows how many options lack an English translation.
- Work through the list: pencil icon per option, enter the English name, save.
- Add product texts with DeepL or AI, see"Translate Shopware products".

## Frequently asked questions

**Why does my English shop show German properties?**
The English translation of the option is missing. Shopware then shows the name from another language through the fallback chain.

**How do I find all options without a translation?**
In the PIM, bulk editing highlights options without a translation in the Assignment tab and shows their count.

**Which languages are checked?**
The languages of the sales channels the affected products are assigned to. A set channel filter takes precedence.

**Does a translation apply to all products?**
Yes. The translation belongs to the option and therefore applies to every product that uses it.

**What does"Also assign to the main product" do?**
The selected options are also set on the parent product of the affected variants. A setting lets you preselect this permanently.

**Do I need Shopware's property catalogue for this?**
No. Translation happens right in the Assignment tab of bulk editing.
