Create a Shopware PDF catalogue: catalogues and price lists straight from your product data

Shopware knows every price, image and text, but the standard does not build a PDF catalogue from it. With the Catalogues add-on in the PIM, the catalogue is made where the data lives: choose chapters, take the design from the shop, generate, done. If prices change, you simply generate it again.

What the PIM does here
  • Catalogues and price lists as PDF with cover, clickable table of contents, foreword and chapters from categories, presets, product groups, manufacturers or your own selection.
  • Prices per customer group: sales channel, language and customer group define which prices and texts appear in the catalogue.
  • In the look of your shop: colours, logo and font come from the theme, and the AI designer can suggest design and texts.
  • Download in the shop, on its own catalogue page with SEO texts, with QR codes and trackable links to the product pages.
How the catalogue is made
  1. Choose chapters from category, preset, product group or manufacturer
  2. Take the design from the shop or ask the AI designer
  3. Check and generate as PDF, even for large ranges
  4. Publish in the shop or share via link

Why a PDF catalogue when there is a shop?

The shop is the place to order. A catalogue is the place to browse, pass on and compare, and many customers still ask for one:

  • B2B customers want a price list with their prices, product numbers and tiers, to file and for purchasing.
  • Field sales and trade fairs need a range to show, even offline on a tablet.
  • Newsletters and seasonal campaigns work better with a catalogue to download than with a category page.
  • Dealers and partners get a catalogue only after logging in, without their prices being public.

The usual way: export, layout, correction

Without the right tool, a catalogue usually works like this: export products as CSV, prepare them in a layout program or spreadsheet, place images one by one, check prices. By the next price change at the latest, the catalogue is outdated and the round starts again.

In the PIM this detour disappears, because the catalogue is made from the same data the shop shows. New prices, new products or a new image mean: generate the catalogue again, not rebuild it.

How the catalogue is made in five steps

  1. Create a catalogue or price list: choose style B2B (compact) or B2C (image-led), sales channel, language and customer group. Or select products in the product list and click "Catalogue from selection".
  2. Put together chapters: one source per chapter, for example a category with subcategories, a saved filter, a dynamic product group or a manufacturer. Plus text pages from shop pages, landing pages, shopping experiences or free text.
  3. Design: the PIM takes colours, logo and font from the shop. You set cover, chapter header, header and backgrounds, or let the AI designer make a suggestion from a short briefing.
  4. Check and generate: the check shows chapters without products and products without image, price or description. Generation runs step by step with progress and remaining time, even for large ranges.
  5. Publish: via a fixed link, on the catalogue page in the shop or only for logged-in customers and certain customer groups.

Every step in detail is described in the guide to catalogues and data sheets.

Catalogue page, QR codes and tracking

Released catalogues appear on their own catalogue page in the shop, with download, introduction, SEO text below the catalogues, meta title and meta description. You define address and heading, and the AI writes the texts if you want. This turns the catalogue into a page that also picks up searches like "request a catalogue" or "price list".

In the PDF itself, product names and images are clickable, and every product can get a QR code to its product page. With a campaign name the PIM adds utm_source=katalog, utm_medium=pdf and utm_campaign to every link. The PIM counts downloads per catalogue and in the dashboard, for 30 days and in total.

Check first, then publish: before generating, the check shows products without image, price or description. The quickest way to close gaps beforehand is the data quality dashboard.

Plus: the product data sheet on the product page

The add-on also includes the product data sheet as PDF. A button on the product page, below the cart button, below the description or in both places, downloads a data sheet with images, prices and the details you select: product number, EAN, manufacturer, dimensions, weight, delivery time, properties, variants and more. Customers ask for exactly this, especially for technical products.

What does it cost?

Catalogues and data sheets are an add-on for the PIM with its own licence. You test it in the PIM under the Add-ons tab free for 7 days, and the trial ends automatically. After that it costs €29.99 per month, cancellable monthly, or €287.90 per year, which is €23.99 per month. All prices net. A licence for PIM for Shopware is required.

AI texts run via the AI provider you already set up in the PIM, AI images via your own account at fal.ai or Higgsfield. The providers bill these costs directly to you, without mark-up.

Frequently asked questions

Can Shopware create PDF catalogues out of the box?

Not as a catalogue with cover, chapters and table of contents. With the Catalogues add-on in the PIM it is created straight from the Shopware product data.

Which prices appear in the catalogue?

The prices of the chosen sales channel, calculated with the rules of the chosen customer group. Optionally with tier prices, or without prices at all.

Do I have to rebuild the catalogue when prices change?

No. You generate it again with one click, chapters and design stay saved. The link in the shop stays the same.

Can I show the catalogue to dealers only?

Yes. Under "Visible for" you choose logged-in customers only or certain customer groups. This applies to the catalogue page and the download link.

What does the Catalogues add-on cost?

€29.99 per month or €287.90 per year, net, after a 7-day free trial. The licence for the PIM comes on top.
