Config matrix · adapt the PIM to your workflow
The config matrix is the central control of the plugin. In 13 tabs it defines which fields are visible and required, how variants, SEO URLs, AI, import and bulk edit work and which functions regular users see.
Where to find it
You open the config matrix via the PIM Configuration Matrix menu item in the Stone & Water menu of the Shopware admin. Whether regular users see it is controlled by the superadmin switch "PIM configuration". A quick search with Ctrl+K (Mac: ⌘+K) searches all tabs, shows the number of hits per tab and jumps from hit to hit with next/previous buttons. Changes are applied with "Save".

Fields and sections
In the Products and Variants tabs you make each field visible or invisible in the detail view or the variant view and mark it as required if needed ("Required (manual)"). Fields that Shopware requires anyway are labelled "Required" and cannot be deactivated. Which fields appear in the quickview of the product list is set in the Variants tab. There is no separate "Quickview" tab.
Order via arrow buttons
You set the order of the sections in the product detail view, such as master data, prices, media, SEO, properties and cross-selling, in the Products tab, and the order in the variant view in the Variants tab - each with "Move up" and "Move down".
Custom columns
In the General tab you add your own columns next to the standard ones. The source is a master data field or any custom field, optionally sortable. Date and yes/no values are formatted automatically.
Gross and net prices
All four price types can be shown or hidden independently for gross and net, separately for main products and variants:
- Selling price
- Purchase price
- List price / RRP
- Lowest price of the last 30 days (Omnibus)
This allows pure gross maintenance, pure net maintenance or a mixed view. Existing settings remain valid, no migration needed.
SEO URLs: two ways
In the SEO URLs tab you choose between the Shopware standard (edit the native SEO URL directly in PIM) and the two-generator system (token pattern into a custom field, Twig template for Shopware's SEO URLs with 301 redirects). Both ways, the variables and the console command are described on the SEO URLs page.
Functions for regular users
In the PIM superadmin tab you define the superadmins and switch individual functions on or off for all other users, including create and duplicate products, bulk edits, generate variants, delete, CSV import and export, feed generator and manage categories. In addition there are visibility switches for the config matrix and the dashboard, and the edit lock. Details on the Permissions & superadmin page.
Settings apply to all users
Column selection, page size, tone and all other settings of the config matrix apply shop-wide to all users. Filter presets are also stored in the database and available to everyone. There is no separation per user - you control different permissions with the superadmin list and the function switches.
Required fields with jump to the spot
If a required field is missing when saving in the detail view, a window with all errors opens. A click jumps to the affected section, expands it and briefly highlights the field.
What's next
The fields you enable here are used mainly in bulk edit and the product listing. Setting up AI providers is covered in AI text generation.
