Bulk edit Shopware products

Raise prices, set delivery times, assign categories, translate texts - for hundreds of articles in one run instead of one by one in the Shopware admin.

Key facts
  • Bulk edit offers more than 40 actions in up to ten tabs - prices, tier prices, master data, logistics, assignments, SEO, custom fields and texts via AI.
  • A snapshot is taken before every change; one click restores the previous state.
  • The selection comes from checked rows or a saved preset; before the run a confirmation summarises all planned changes.
  • Writing happens in blocks through asynchronous queue indexing; if a block fails, its articles are retried individually.

The Shopware standard offers mass changes for only a handful of fields. Everything else means: open article, change field, save, back to the list. At 800 articles that is a working day. The PIM plugin puts a bulk edit right into the Shopware admin that covers more than 40 actions - with confirmation, snapshot and restore.

Which fields can be changed in bulk

  • Prices: fixed price, increase or decrease by percentage or amount, purchase price plus percentage or amount, pseudo price (strike-through), tax class, base price
  • Tier prices: bind to the base price, prescribe a tier structure, transfer to variants
  • Master data: status, top seller, EAN, release date, manufacturer, weight and dimensions, meta title and meta description as templates
  • Logistics: stock, delivery time, restock time, free shipping, clearance
  • Assignments: categories, properties, tags, cross-selling, visibility per sales channel
  • Custom fields of every type, per language - including clearing them selectively
  • Texts per language via AI text generation with ChatGPT or Claude, translations with DeepL or "Copy from default language"

The workflow in four steps

  1. Select: mark articles in the product list or use a saved filter preset as the source. Whether the variants of the selected articles are changed too is defined by the setting "Include variants by default" in the config matrix.
  2. Check: with a preset the dialog shows every active filter as readable chips and the article count. Before the run the confirmation summarises all planned changes; SEO templates get a preview of the first three articles.
  3. Run: the job writes in blocks and shows progress in real time. If a block fails, its articles are retried individually so that a single rejected article does not take 24 others down with it.
  4. Undo: a snapshot of the previous state is taken before every change. One click restores it.
Why it stays fast: write operations use Shopware's asynchronous queue indexing instead of synchronous indexing in the request, at a batch size of 25. Large runs across several thousand articles are therefore several times faster.

Taking variants along correctly

Inheritance in Shopware works all-or-nothing per field: as soon as a variant carries an own value, it inherits nothing in that field any more. This is exactly where many mass changes fail unnoticed. The PIM makes the deviations visible and offers dedicated actions to transfer properties and images to the variants or reset them to inheritance.

Common tasks from practice

  • 4 percent price increase across an entire range, then recalculate bound tier prices with one click
  • Changing the delivery time for all articles of one manufacturer
  • Finding missing meta descriptions in a target language and filling them with AI
  • Transferring the visibility of a sales channel to all variants
  • Finding discontinued articles through a preset and deactivating them together

All fields, actions and limits are described in detail in the bulk-edit documentation; the manual lists them compactly as a reference on one page.
